After completing my sketches, I ended up taking some tracing paper and transferring my sketches to my water color block for my final design. I felt this transformation was simple enough to really make the transformation believable when translated to my watercolor block. Ultimately, I decided to do a transformation of a bowling ball into a bowling pin. The bottom transformation was a image that was provided for us that I tried recreating to also help me get comfortable with this process. I started off by sketching out some ideas in my sketchbook to get a comfortable feel for this design activity. We were required to choose two objects and show a 6 step metamorphosis of one object changing into the other. This weeks design activity had a focus on the study of change over time. Overall if I could change one thing, I think I would have painted the lane also to make it stand out a little more but non the less I’m satisfied. I tried painting the top section to add a little more vibrant color and include another medium besides colored pencils. And finally the Red Hot Chili Peppers logo for the concert I went to recently. I included the Marvel and DC comics logos to show my passion for comics. The car for the first car I ever purchased. The fish for when I used to go fishing with my grandfather. The baseball and glove for when I used to play little league. I put in the pencils to symbolize my love for drawing. I ended up using this image because it was a very special moment in my life. The person throwing the ball in my final design is me from high school when I went to states for bowling. Because bowling is an important hobby of mine, I wanted to somehow incorporate it into my autobiography collage.įor my final design, I decided to fill the lane with items that represented my life and different events from it. I began this first assignment by sketching out some ideas into my sketch pad. We were to choose a special time or specific event in our lives that was a profound turning point. The goal of this assignment was to create a unique composition filled with color on Watercolor Block.
