However, tourism dipped in 2017 as the number of American visitors declined for the first time since 2009. ![]() ![]() Let’s explore which other packages we have at our disposal besides the default jdk package: $ apt list openjdk-11* Listing. Let’s have a look at the “Depends” section of the output. We can see that if we inspect the package: $ apt show openjdk-11-jdk It’s also worth noting that although the package is called openjdk-11-jdk, as of this writing, it actually installs version 10.0.2. Now we should see the same version number as shown above: javac 1.8.0_181 3.2. Let’s check that the javac executable is available as well: $ javac -version OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.181-b13, mixed mode) The result should list a Runtime Environment and a JVM: openjdk version "1.8.0_181" Now, let’s verify the installation: $ java -version Let’s install OpenJDK 8 from the “Main” repository with apt: $ sudo apt update It’s supported by Canonical - the same company that maintains Ubuntu itself. ![]() The “Main” repository is available by default on all Ubuntu systems. Of course, we can also head to the OpenJDK website, grab a package there, and install it the same way we’ve seen in the previous section.īut using the apt tooling and the “Main” repository provides some benefits. For this reason, we can find an up-to-date version of OpenJDK 8 in the “Main” repository on most of the supported Ubuntu versions. JDK 8 is an LTS version that has been around for a while. Ultimately this was due a total lack of staffing at the start and end of the rides. And this is where the bad review comes in.ĭuring the second visit, one of my friends was badly injured on one of the slides (yellow and blue tube). In fact we had such a good time, we came back later in the week. Yes they need a bit of TLC, but my family and I had a great time. There aren't loads of slides, but the slides there are, are all good fun. But I have to be honest, we had a fantastic fun packed day. Based on previous reviews, I wasn't expecting much. Our first visit was excellent which exceeded expectations. ![]() Other reviews that the pool water was salty sow closed our mouths when in the water. This is a good and bad review based on two visits during the first week of August. It’s ok for a few hours but wouldn’t call it “a day out”. We didn’t eat there and took our own food. The toilets are clean but again need an update, lighting in there is so poor you can hardly see and in the changing rooms there is nowhere to hang clothes - no pegs or benches. I’d you are going with little ones it may be ideal to wear beach shoes as the hard, uneven concrete floor is unforgiving to the softer feet!! Umbrellas that you pay to use are very old and dirty however they serve a purpose. ![]() The sunbeds are uncomfortable and bowing in the centre. The park is, as many describe, very tired looking to the point of dangerous in the main pool, tiles are off the floor all over the place and the main pool I found to be quite dirty with bits in it and tissues/plasters. Not ideal but those few staff were friendly. We all noticed a real lack of lifeguards, mostly one guard directing at least 4-5 slides at a time. Sadly there is nothing else to pass any other time such as a lazy river etc Had a nice morning here with my teen boys however within the hour they had completed all the rides. We made the most of it for a few hours but it was the general upkeep and cleanliness that really put us off. My 13yr old couldn't leave fast enough, it was that awful. It was absolutely terrible, the music at the loudest possible volume, it was buzzing and screeching. The waterpark is attached to the two neighbouring hotels and the animation team came down in the afternoon. It wasn't overly clear which were male and female and there were men in the ladies shower area. The ladies on the snack bar were pleasant and efficient. ![]() There are lifeguards around who polite and friendly, I just didn't feel there were enough of them. The very high ones really hurt my daughter on the joins. There were many, many tiles missing in all the pools. The water was cloudy and there was lots of debris (vomit in some pools!), there was a brown sludge mark around the waterline on the walls. The pools are filled with saltwater, (as were the pools at our hotel which were very nice) but these were horribly salty, as in a thick, heavy feel to it that immediately became itchy on your skin as you exited the pool. It's really uncomfortable to walk on and needs repairing in many places. ![]() The paths around the pools are all a mish mash of uneven concrete. When we arrived mid morning all the parasols were taken, but we were able to find 3 sunbeds.įrom a distance the waterpark looks OK, it's once you're in that it becomes a bit unpleasant. We were staying in Mogan so Taurito Lago was closer (although it takes longer than you'd imagine due to a land slip that has kept the main route closed for the long term). I took my two children (13 and 6yrs) having weighed up the pros/cons of here versus Aqualand. |
